Ba-ba-ba Bubbles!

My youngest recently won a coloring contest and a whopping $5.00 prize! 

That's like winning the lotto when your three!

My oldest also entered the contest, but did not place...however, grandma gave her $5 too because... well because she's grandma of course!

My oldest and I went into town the other day and she spent her $5 on an array of toys. 

3 kites,

1 bucket of sidewalk chalk,

and a bubble wand.

(bargain shopper!)

Its not windy enough for the kites, too rainy for chalk,

but we managed some hard core bubble time.

If you know what your looking for, you can see our corkscrew willow tree in the reflection of that bubble. 

Pretty neat!

Yeeeee HAW!

Oh dear, it's that time again! A PW assignment!

I've already fallen in love with the subject she choose and it just started! The topic?

HORSES.

I don't own a horse, (wish I could, but I'm pretty sure its against my subdivision covenants)...soooo I'm digging through all my old stuff to see if I have any horsey (kids translation) photos.

Boy Howdy (cowboy translation?) I do!

This is one I took awhile back, before I got my fancy camera.

My moms horse.

I have to say my favorite feature of a horse would be their nose.

Its so soft and all fuzzy like....Whewwww Weeee (country translation), its just irresistible!

Backyard Soccer

It stopped raining long enough for some back yard soccer yesterday.

Slice of Life

The theme for I Heart Faces this week is, Slice of Life.

I love this photo of my girls playing outside.

My little one is incredably tickleish and whenever she is grumpy or upset about something her big sister will try and give her a 'tickle torture' to lift her spirits.

It always works.

And in the end they both are full of giggles.

Seasons

One thing I really enjoy about where I live is we really get to experience all four seasons.

We have HOT summers

 (100+ degrees)

Cooooold winters

(can dip into the negatives)

 

Beautiful Autumns

(love the colors)

And lovely Springs

Though I would enjoy living on a tropical beach somewhere, I would certainly miss all this.

2 wheeln'

A few weeks ago my oldest ditched the training wheels (somewhat reluctantly) and made her way into the world of 2 wheeln'. You can see that here. She caught on pretty fast, and soon was zooming around the neighborhood on her own.
So naturally, her little sister wanted her training wheels off asap. She being the boss and all (I won't deny the truth), her daddy removed em.

She wobbled, she fumbled, she tried, but she juuuuust couldn't keep her bike upright.
Hey, she's only three after all!

 Its been a few weeks since then and now... will you look at this?!

Whoo hoo!

Yay!

ahhhhh.

And off they go.

My little one wanted soooooo bad to get her picture taken on the top bunk, all by herself.

Her sister stole her thunder... and she wasn't happy about it.

Lights & Darks

The theme this week for MCP's Project 52 is 'Lights and Darks'.

I was thinking maybe doing a sun flare sorta thingy-ma-bob, but then remembered this old picture:

I took this of my husband when he first gave me my camera and I was playing with shutter speed & aperture (which I was completely clueless on!).

I was also really into adding textures at the time, hence the cracked look. :)

It turned out pretty freaky Jason-ish, which wasn't my intention, but it was fun to create and gave me the idea for this weeks Lights and Darks theme.

 So...

A dark bathroom + a dozen matches = My Entry:

 The hardest part was getting the focus right.

Favorites

Two of my favorite photos of my little one were taken on the same day in the field behind our house.

They were shot at what I have heard called 'the golden hour', when the sun is getting ready to set and casts everything in that beautiful natural glow.  

Most of my all time favorite photos of my girls are taken during that time of day.

I'm cheering today for the decent weather we are having.... it's in the 50's ohhhhh yeah!

My girls have been playing outside since 10am.

A little loven'

I was going through all my old photo's from the summer and came across this:

They fight like the dickens these days, but I know they love each other more then anything.

Floating Kids

When I first really started getting into Photoshop I was blown away by all the creative things people could make from their photos and couldn't wait to see what I could do.

I had the idea of making my oldest daughter appear to float away with balloons. Something most kids dream about, and maybe some adults too. ; )

I ended up creating this:

It was really hard to get the sizing right so it would look somewhat realistic and I ended up  having to shrink her down so much you can't even tell its her, but she thought it was pretty cool!


Its been awhile since I have made anything else like that, and last night I came up with an idea I couldn't wait to try!

So today my daughters and I made this:

If you use Photoshop and like to dab into something like this with your photography its really fun to try! Its all about layers!
