big bang

With my oldest in school during the day, she doesn't always get fair camera time. 

(case in point; little sister dominating blog posts as of late.) 

Anyhoo, lately she has been obsessed with bangs. 

(off topic I know, bear with me.)

So she gets off the bus after school and has the front half of her hair pulled out of her cute up do I slaved, sprayed, and curled that morning and now its just dangling in her face.

"Look mom, I made bangs!"

 Its pretty cute.

But since I'm a mean mom, I wont cut her real bangs.

The maintenance folks! The maintenance!

And besides, my mom gave me bangs as a kid. 

The kind that start in the back of your head. yeah. uh huh. Ever heard of em? 

There not an urban myth people.

I'm still traumatized.

So with the above excuses firmly in place, she improvises.

And I think she side swept look fits her beautifully.

She was so thrilled at her new creation she insisted I grab the camera and take her photo.

Equal camera time.

Why my blog is dying

I have been neglecting my itty bitty corner of the blogsosphere since November.

I have a valid excuse ya know.

yup.

Our family is upgrading from four, (okay five if you count the dog) to five humans..... and one dog.

In other words, were expecting our third little one this summer!

 Its going to be crazy, fun, exciting, and busy.

Real busy.

The girls are beyond thrilled to have a new little sister or brother and I can't wait to see them change diapers and get up for the 3am feeding.

Say what? 

Hey, a girl can dream.

Since I'm now into my 2nd trimester Im hoping my exhaustion has subsided and I will have a little  more photo/blog/computer time..

at least for a few more months, right?

Today was good.

What a weird winter.

Dry. Dry. Dry.

Then...

Rain. Rain. Rain.

Where is the snow??

 *sob*

 *wail*

*shudder with despair*

But, in an effort to remain positive, it was a sunny and balmy 42 degree's in our backyard this afternoon...

So I dusted off the ole Nikon and snapped a photo of my girls.

*click*

They look like they are enjoying the weather...but inside they're sobbing for snow too, I'm sure of it.

OK, mayyyybe not sobbing... 

just anxiously waiting for some to finally fall and stick around long enough that we, errrr I mean they, can  assemble their snow gear and play outside before it melts and is lost to us for ever and ever.
(whew, that was a long sentence.)

This weenie winter is bumming me out people.

We broke out the painting, coloring, cutting, artsy, crafty gear yesterday for my little one.

Its messy, but its worth it.

Best face of 2011

Its been ages since I have participated in I Heart Faces challenge. 

With the Holidays and all the other going on's in our family I have neglected my blog and haven't even been checking in on the new themes every week.

*gasp*

Well today I was doing my daily facebook read through and saw the theme posted this week was Best Face Photo of 2011. 

hmmmm. 

I can do that!

A little daunting perhaps since I took 5,895,327,892+ photos this last year, but believe it or not it only took me a few minutes to narrow it down to two cuties...and neither one were my kids. (<------I feel really bad typing that.. now i must justify: There are too many photos of my girls. TOO MANY. It would take hours to narrow and down and I just can't pick between the two of them. whew. so there.)
